About this winona gift
Winona is a river town on the Mississippi in southeastern Minnesota, a place that tends to hold onto the people who grew up there and draw back the ones who left. A Winona shirt is how a former resident says where they're from, whether they're at a college reunion, a family wedding, or a job in a city a long way from the bluffs. Because the name is small and specific, a tee or hoodie with Winona on it often starts a conversation with someone who knows the town. For the person who moved away, a mug on the kitchen counter is a daily reminder of home. If you're buying for someone who still lives there, a shirt with the town's name works just as well for a weekend at the river, a summer festival, or a winter walk along the water. Add a second line, like a year or a street, and the gift becomes about their own history with the place.
