About this altmar gift
Altmar is a small town in Oswego County, in upstate New York, and the people who grew up there tend to stay attached to it. A shirt with the town name is how they claim it, whether they still live a few miles away or have moved to a city a long way off. Altmar works well as a homecoming gift for someone who left and came back, or for a relative who never stopped asking about the place. Because it's a small town, most people will know exactly where it is, and that familiarity is the point. A hoodie suits the cold months in that part of the state, and a mug gives the homesick transplant a daily reminder of where they're from. Add a second line for the year they were born, a street, or the name of the lake nearby, and the design starts to feel like their own.
