About this guatemala gift
Guatemala is a country of volcanoes, Mayan ruins, and highland markets where the textiles are woven in patterns that have been passed down for generations. A lot of people who are from there, or whose families are, carry that pride into everyday life, whether they live in Guatemala City, Los Angeles or somewhere in the Midwest. A Guatemala shirt is a way to claim that heritage in public, and it's a gift that fits the person who talks about home at every family gathering. Add a second line with a city, a town or a department name if you know it, so it's more than a country name on cotton. Guatemalan-American families often mark the independence celebrations in September, and a hoodie or tee is an easy way to join in. For someone who's far from home, a mug with the country name is a daily reminder of where they're from.
