About this potlatch gift
Potlatch is a small town in north-central Idaho, and most people who carry the name grew up on the Palouse or came back to it after college in Moscow or Pullman. The place is quiet, with farms, a lumber history and long views over the hills, so the people who love it tend to love it quietly too. A shirt or mug with Potlatch on it is a way to say where home is without a speech. It suits someone who has left and misses the drive through the hills, a relative who still lives there, or a neighbor who has always been the one to know everyone's business. Because the word is short and the place is specific, a second line helps: a year they were born, the high school class, or the street. That small detail is what makes a Potlatch gift feel like it was picked for them.
