About this windy gift
Windy is the nickname Chicago has carried for well over a century, and anyone who has stood on the lakefront in January knows where it comes from. A Windy shirt is how a Chicagoan says they belong to the city even on days when the wind off Lake Michigan cuts straight through a coat. It works as a gift for someone who grew up there, someone who moved away for work or school, or someone who just loves the skyline and the neighborhoods. The gift lands best when it feels specific: a hoodie for the walk to the L, a mug for the apartment kitchen, or a kids tee so the next generation starts early. You can add a second line with a neighborhood, a street or a year to make it theirs.
All windy gifts →- A hoodie for cold-weather walksA Windy hoodie fits the season that gives the city its nickname, and it's the layer they'll reach for first when the wind picks up.
- A mug for the transplantAn 11oz mug with Windy on it is a daily reminder of home for someone who now lives somewhere calmer.
- A tee with their neighborhoodPut Lincoln Park, Pilsen or Logan Square on the second line so the shirt says where they're from, not just the city.
- A kids tee for a future ChicagoanA kids shirt lets a family start the tradition young, and it pairs well with a matching adult tee.
