About this database dba gift
A database administrator, or DBA, is the person who keeps the company's data running when everyone else is asleep. They handle backups, tune slow queries, plan maintenance windows and get the 2 a.m. page when the system falls over. Most of that work is invisible until it breaks, so the gifts they tend to appreciate are the ones that acknowledge the job. A tee or hoodie with DBA on it is a small joke that only other tech people really get, and that's usually the point. For a more personal touch, put their title on it, such as Database Administrator or Senior DBA, or add the database platform they live in. A mug on their desk will get more use than almost anything else, since coffee and late nights go together in this line of work. If you're buying for a whole data team, the Team Shop lets you order one design with each person's name on their own shirt.
