About this director state gift
A state director usually runs a program or agency that reaches across a whole state, so their days are split between budget meetings, legislative hearings, field visits and a long list of phone calls. Whether they lead a department of transportation, a public health office, a parks agency or an education board, they're the person who gets asked to explain a decision at eleven at night. A gift that acknowledges the long hours lands well. A comfortable hoodie for the drive between offices, a mug that holds the coffee through the early briefing, or a tee with their title on it for the Saturday errands they still manage to work through. Put the title on it, state director, and add the agency or the state name on a second line if you want it to be specific. Keep it low key; most state directors would rather have something useful than something flashy.
