About this chicago gift
Chicago people carry the city everywhere they go. Some grew up on the South Side hearing the El rattle overhead, some still argue about deep dish versus thin crust, and plenty of transplants miss the lake wind and the Cubs-or-Sox debates over a late dinner. A Chicago shirt works for the trip back for the holidays, the Lakefront run on a summer morning, or just a reminder that the city is worth bragging about. The best gifts for someone from Chicago get specific: a neighborhood like Wicker Park, Logan Square or Hyde Park on the second line, or the year they moved away. For a transplant who misses home, a mug on the desk is a small daily hello. Add the neighborhood they grew up in and it stops being a souvenir and becomes their story.
