About this august gift
August is a name with a calendar attached, so people with it tend to hear the joke within a minute of meeting anyone. The gift that lands is the one that takes the joke as a compliment: a tee or hoodie with August on it that they can wear to the office, the park, or a summer barbecue where somebody inevitably asks whether they're named after the month. Many people named August have a birthday in the summer, so a shirt with their name and the year they turned a milestone age is a warm, personal choice. For a kid named August, a kids tee or baby onesie gives the family something to pass down. Adding a second line, like a nickname, a birth year or a city they love, turns a plain name into something that's clearly theirs.
