About this burnside gift
Burnside is a street, and a bridge, and a name people in Portland use with a certain pride, so a Burnside shirt means something to anyone who has spent time there. A tee or hoodie with the name is a quick way to say you know the city's cafes, its bridges and the long walk across them on a rainy afternoon. Since it's a city word, the person who gets this gift might be a lifelong local, a transplant who still misses the Pacific Northwest, or a student who just moved there for school. Many of the designs have a second line where you can add a neighborhood, a year or a nickname, so the shirt can read as theirs rather than a souvenir. For someone who has left, a Burnside mug on the kitchen counter is a small daily reminder of home, and a kids or baby design can start a family tradition before the child can read the word.
