About this orrington gift
Orrington is a small town in Penobscot County, Maine, where people tend to know each other by name and by family. Someone from Orrington who has moved away, or who has spent a lifetime there, often carries that town with them as a point of pride. A shirt or mug with Orrington on it is a way to say where you're from without a long explanation, and it works as much for the homesick former resident as for someone who still drives past the same fields every day. Add a family name, a graduation year, or the year they moved home, and the piece becomes personal rather than generic. Because the name is specific, the design does most of the talking, so keep the wording simple and let the town name carry it.
