About this sacaton gift
Sacaton is a small place, and most people who've never been there have never heard of it. It's an unincorporated community in Pinal County, Arizona, sitting in the Gila River Indian Community, known for its open desert and the sacaton grass that gives the town its name. Someone who grew up there or still calls it home probably feels a strong tie to a place that doesn't show up on many maps, so a shirt or mug with the name is a way of saying where they're from. It works best as a gift from someone who knows the place or wants to honor it. Add a second line for a year, a school, a family name or a nickname the town uses, and the design becomes personal. For a relative who moved away, a hoodie or mug is a steady reminder of home on cold mornings far from the desert.
