About this squirrel gift
Squirrel people are a particular breed. They keep the backyard feeder going through the worst winter, they have opinions about which tree the grey ones should be climbing, and they probably named at least one squirrel. A squirrel gift works best when it's aimed at that affection rather than at the animal alone. A light tee for summer picnics, a dark one for the cold months when the squirrels are busiest, a hoodie for the early mornings spent watching them from the kitchen window. Add a second line with a name, the year they started feeding the yard, or the name of the squirrel they're most attached to, and it becomes theirs. Kids who are fascinated by squirrels tend to love the kids tees and the baby onesie, which make a good first animal shirt. A mug with a squirrel on it is the gift that gets used every day, usually while they're watching the feeder.
