About this certified orthoptist gift
A certified orthoptist spends the day working with eyes that don't quite line up, testing binocular vision and helping patients, often children, learn to use both eyes together. It's specialized work that most people outside the field have never heard of, so a gift that names the profession is a small way of saying you know what they do. The people who do this job tend to be meticulous and patient, and they often spend long stretches of the day at a dim exam lane or a screen, which makes a comfortable hoodie or a sturdy mug a practical pick. For a certified orthoptist, the credential is the part that matters most. Add their certification after their name, or add the year they earned it, and the shirt becomes theirs. Graduation from an orthoptics program or passing the certification exam is a natural moment to give one.
