About this desk editor gift
A desk editor is the person who keeps the news moving after the reporters file, catching the typo in the headline, cutting the story to fit, and deciding what runs on the front page at deadline. Most of that work happens late, under fluorescent lights, with a phone ringing and a copy queue that never empties. A gift for them should respect that rhythm. A soft tee for the drive home after a long close, a hoodie for the newsroom that runs cold at night, or a mug that's clearly theirs for the coffee they'll reheat three times. Put desk editor on the front, and use the second line for their paper, section or shift, like Metro, Sports, Night Desk or Copy Desk. It turns a job title into something personal, and anyone in a newsroom will recognize it right away.
