About this kalsominer gift
Kalsominers are plasterers of a sort, working in the old tradition of whitewashing and lime-washing walls, the kind of finish that goes on in thin coats and needs a steady hand and good timing. It's skilled, dusty, physical work, and the people who do it tend to take quiet pride in a room that looks clean and even when the light comes through. A gift that acknowledges the trade lands better than something generic. Put their name on the tee they'll wear on the job, or on a mug that's clearly theirs for the coffee break on site. Choose a design with the word itself prominent, then add a second line with their name or the year they started. Since the word is less familiar than most trades, a shirt or mug that carries it gives a conversation starter with other tradespeople who may recognize it right away.
