About this merchant mariner gift
Merchant mariners spend months at a time on ships, far from home, moving cargo across oceans and keeping vessels running in every kind of weather. The gifts that land for them tend to be practical and a little rugged: a hoodie for the cold deck at dawn, a tee for the long stretch between ports, a mug for the galley coffee that has to survive a rolling sea. What makes a gift feel like it was picked with them in mind is a reference to the work itself. Add the rating or department they serve in, such as deck, engine or steward, along with their vessel name or the year they started at sea. Many designs have a second line for exactly that kind of detail, so the shirt says something specific about their career rather than just the job title. If you're buying for a crewmate, a few people from the same ship can each get their own shirt with the same design through the Team Shop, which makes a good send-off or a reunion gift when the crew finally sails back in.

- A mug for the galleyAn 11oz mug with their name or vessel gives them a coffee cup that stays theirs through a long voyage.
- Matching tees for the crewPick one design in the Team Shop and paste the names of everyone aboard, and each person gets their own size.
- A shirt for shore leaveA dark tee with the job title is an easy thing to wear in port when they're finally off the ship.
