About this outreach librarian gift
Outreach librarians spend their days out of the building: at school visits, library card drives, bookmobile stops, senior centers and community events where the library has to meet people instead of waiting for them. It's a job that runs on energy and a bag full of backup plans, so the gifts that land tend to be the ones they can wear to the next outing. A tee for the event table, a hoodie for the chilly bus ride, a mug for the early start before the first stop. Put their job title on it, or add the branch or the program they run, and it becomes theirs rather than a generic library shirt. If you're buying for a whole outreach team, one design with each person's name on their own shirt makes a better thank-you than another sheet cake. Library staff often feel their work goes unnoticed, and a gift that names what they actually do says you noticed.
