About this preparer gift
A preparer is the person who turns a shoebox of receipts and a stack of W-2s into a return that holds up, and most of the year they're doing it quietly. Tax season is long and intense, with weeks of late nights before the filing deadline, then a sudden lull once extensions are done. A gift that acknowledges that rhythm lands well. A soft tee or a hoodie is something they can wear on the quiet days, and a mug is the right size for the cold coffee that tends to happen during a deadline rush. The word preparer covers people who work at storefront tax offices, independent practices and seasonal jobs, so you can make the gift theirs by adding the detail that fits: their office name on the second line, the year they started, or the credential they earned, if they hold one. Keep it plain and specific, the way they keep their own work.
