About this sound editor gift
Sound editors work in the quiet part of a film or game that nobody notices until it's wrong. They cut footsteps, smooth dialogue, build the creak of a door and the hum of a spaceship, often in a dark room with headphones on for hours. The gifts they tend to keep are the ones that acknowledge that obsessive attention to detail. A soft tee for long days at the desk, a hoodie for the chilly studio, a mug that's clearly theirs so it doesn't disappear into the shared kitchen. Put sound editor on the shirt and add a second line for their studio, a project they're proud of, or a year they finished something big. That small specific touch turns a generic job shirt into something they'll actually wear. Tell the people who've worked with them, too: the sound department often gets the least credit, so a gift that names the craft says a lot.
