About this state tested nursing assistant gift
A state tested nursing assistant, or STNA, has usually passed a state competency exam after completing a state-approved training program, and that certification is the thing they worked hardest to earn. They spend their shifts helping residents with bathing, meals, transfers and the small daily tasks that keep people comfortable, often in long-term care facilities or rehab units. That work is physical and it's easy to overlook, so a gift that names the certification tells them you see what they do. Put STNA on the front and the facility or unit on the second line, and it becomes their shirt instead of a generic one. Many STNAs wear scrubs, so a shirt they can wear on a day off or a hoodie for the cold break room tends to get used a lot. A mug for the coffee they drink between rounds is a small, practical touch that often gets kept on the counter for years.
