About this um specialist gift
A UM specialist is an odd one to shop for because the title is rarely explained to people outside the work. UM is short for utilization management, and specialists in that role review care plans and coverage decisions, usually from a desk and often on a headset. Most of the day is focused, detail-heavy work, so the gifts that land are the ones that make a long stretch at the computer more comfortable. A soft tee for the commute, a hoodie for a cold office, or a mug that's clearly theirs so it doesn't wander to the break room. Put their title on the design so it reads as theirs, and add a line for the team, the department, or the year they started. That turns a generic job shirt into something they'll actually wear, and it gives coworkers a conversation starter about what the role really involves.
