About this unit aid gift
A unit aid, sometimes called a unit clerk or ward aide, is often the person who keeps a busy floor running: answering phones, stocking supplies, carrying messages between patients and staff, and making sure the right chart is in the right hand. The work is physical and steady, with long shifts and little credit, so a gift that acknowledges the role lands well. A tee for the drive home, a hoodie for the chilly break room, or a mug that's clearly theirs can all work. The most personal choice is to add their name and the unit or department they work in, such as med-surg, ICU or the ER, so the piece reflects their actual job. Some people also add the year they started or the credential they earned. Whatever you choose, keep the wording simple and let the design show that you noticed what they do.
