About this writer editor gift
Writers and editors live with a lot of red ink, rewrites and deadlines that move without warning, and they usually spend their days working on other people's words more than their own. A gift that shows you noticed the craft lands well: a tee for the long edit day, a hoodie for the cold home office where the drafts pile up, or a mug that says writer editor for the first coffee of a manuscript. Put their role on the front and a second line for a publication, a genre, or the book title they're working on, and it becomes theirs rather than generic office merch. If they're just starting out, a line with the year they began or the first byline is a nice touch. Writers tend to appreciate a gift that makes them smile without being precious, so keep the wording plain and let the job speak for itself.
All writer editor gifts →- A tee for edit dayAdd the genre or publication they work for on the second line so it's specific to their desk.
- A hoodie for the home officeWriters and editors often work in cold, quiet rooms, so a warm hoodie with their title earns daily wear.
- A mug for the first draftAn 11 oz mug with writer editor gets them through the morning pages and the late-night revisions.
- A kids tee for a family of readersIf a child in the house loves books, a kids shirt with the same word is a fun matching idea.
