About this spinner gift
A spinner is someone who turns fiber into yarn, usually at a wheel or with a drop spindle, and who can tell you what a good draft feels like in their fingers. Most spinners are makers first. They've got bags of roving, a favorite wool breed, and a corner of the house that belongs to the wheel. That makes them easy to shop for if you pay attention to the craft itself. Skip the generic crafty tee and go for something that names what they do. Add their name, their fiber of choice, whether that's merino, alpaca or silk, or the name of their fiber studio, and the shirt reads as theirs. Hoodies suit long afternoons at the wheel, and a mug stays within reach of the workbench. Fiber festivals run through the fall and spring, so a shirt they can wear to one is a safe bet.
