About this admission director gift
An admission director spends the year reading applications, running info sessions, traveling to college fairs and then waiting through the long stretch between decisions going out and deposits coming in. It's a job built on first impressions and a lot of conference rooms. The gifts that land are the ones that make their workday easier or give them something to wear on the road: a tee for fair season, a hoodie for the chilly campus tour days, a mug that holds up through back-to-back meetings. Put their title on it, or their name underneath, or the name of the office they run. If you work on their team, a matching shirt for the whole admissions staff is a good way to mark a record class or the end of a hard cycle. For a family member, a mug or tee with their title says you know what they actually do all day, which isn't always obvious from the outside.
