About this architect in training gift
An architect in training has usually finished a degree and is working toward licensure, which means years of logged hours at a firm, studying for the exams, and sketching at the kitchen table on weekends. They're proud of the title and a little impatient to drop the in training part. A gift that treats the work as serious lands well: a shirt for the drafting-room chair, a hoodie for the cold site visits, a mug for the early-morning coffee before a review. Put the words architect in training on the design, and add the year they started or the firm's city in the second line if it fits. Keep the wording simple and let their own effort carry the gift. If you aren't sure how they'd like the title written, a quick check with someone close to them will save you a reprint.
