About this board gamer gift
A board gamer is the person who keeps a shelf of games they haven't finished yet, who has opinions about worker placement versus deck-building, and who will happily spend a Saturday night teaching a new rules set to a table of friends. The gifts that land for them are the ones that show you know the hobby, whether that's a tee for game night, a hoodie for the cold drive to the game store, or a mug for the coffee they'll drink while setting up the board. Add a second line with their favorite game, their game group's name, or the year they started their collection, and the shirt stops being generic and becomes theirs. Board gamers also tend to gather in groups, so if you're buying for a whole table of players, one design with every name on its own shirt is a fun way to mark a regular game night. A mug is a quiet pick for the person who always brings the snacks and sets the table.
