About this chugiak gift
Chugiak is a community in the Matanuska-Susitna area north of Anchorage, Alaska, and the people who call it home tend to take that identity seriously. A Chugiak shirt is for the Alaskan who wants to wear their hometown on a cold morning, for the family member who moved away and still talks about the drive in, and for the kid who's just learning where they're from. Because Chugiak is a smaller place than the big cities this store prints most often, the shirt is a conversation starter; people will ask where it is. Adding a second line, like a street name, a school, or a year they moved in, turns a place name into a personal one. A mug suits the person who wants Chugiak on their kitchen counter every morning, and a hoodie works through the long winters when the outdoors is less inviting.
