About this ellenville gift
Ellenville is a small village in Ulster County, New York, in the Shawangunk Mountains region. People who grew up there or moved away often carry it with them as a point of pride, and a shirt with the village name is how they say where they're from without a long explanation. For a former resident, the name alone is enough. Add a graduation year, a street, or the family name on the second line and it becomes personal rather than a souvenir. Ellenville is the kind of place where a gift lands because it's specific: the high school class, the year someone left, the family that stayed. A mug works well for the person who moved away and misses home, and a hoodie suits anyone heading back for a reunion or a cold weekend upstate. The more you tie the design to their own history there, the more it will feel like theirs.
