About this engineering mgr gift
Engineering managers sit between the code and the people who write it. Their days are a mix of sprint planning, one-on-ones, hiring loops and the occasional production incident they have to explain upward. They're usually the one who stayed late to make sure the team had what it needed, and few of them get a gift that acknowledges that. A tee or hoodie with their title on it says you noticed the job. Add the team or the product they're responsible for on a second line and it stops being a generic work shirt. The mug is the easy win for the desk, where most of their coffee gets drunk while they're in a meeting that should have been an email. Something lightly funny about the job tends to land better than a motivational slogan, since most managers have already heard enough of those from their own leadership.
