About this garden plain gift
Garden Plain is a town of a few thousand people, and I don't know much about its specifics beyond the name, so I'll keep this to what a gift for someone from a small place usually needs. People who grew up in a town like this tend to carry it with them: the main street they walked, the people who knew their family, the drive back for holidays. A shirt or mug with the town name is a quiet way to say that place still counts. Pair the name with a second line for the year they moved away, their graduating class, or the street they grew up on, and it reads as personal rather than like a souvenir. For a transplant who has spent years in a bigger city, a Garden Plain mug on the desk is the simplest reminder of where they started. Hoodies and tees work well for anyone who still goes back for the annual events the town holds.
