About this huslia gift
Huslia is a small village in the Koyukuk region of interior Alaska, and the people who live there or have roots there tend to hold on to it hard. Many residents are Koyukon Athabascan, and the community's identity is tied to the river, the land and the seasons more than to any city skyline. A shirt with Huslia on it is a way of saying where you're from, whether that's a tee worn to a homecoming, a hoodie for a cold winter day, or a mug for someone who has moved away and misses the place. Because it's a small community, a gift like this often means more when it's personal to the family, so you might add a family name, a graduation year or a second line that only the recipient would recognize. Think about where they spend their time now and whether the design will get worn there.
