About this marquette gift
Marquette is a small city on the shore of Lake Superior in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, and the people who live there tend to be proud of how far from everything it feels. A Marquette shirt is a way to say you're from a place where winters are long, the lake is the view and the town is small enough that everyone knows somebody. Many people from there end up living elsewhere, for school or work, and a Marquette tee or mug is how they keep a little of the lakeshore with them. Hoodies suit the cold months and the drive north. For a new baby, the onesie with the town name is a way of saying where they're from before they can say it themselves. Add a second line with a neighborhood, a year or a school they attended and the design becomes theirs, not just a souvenir of the city.
