About this nursing aide gift
Nursing aides are often the people who spend the most time at a patient's bedside, handling bathing, meals, repositioning and the small comforts that make a long shift bearable. They work on their feet, carry more than they should, and usually get less thanks than they deserve. A gift that shows you recognize the work tends to land well. A soft tee for the drive home, a hoodie for a cold break room, or a mug that's clearly theirs so it doesn't wander off in the staff lounge all say you see what the job takes. Put their name on it, and if you like, add the facility type or the shift they usually work, such as nights or weekends. It becomes a personal piece instead of a generic job shirt, and it's something they can wear on days off without it feeling like a uniform.
