About this pearisburg gift
Pearisburg is a small town in Giles County, Virginia, tucked along the New River in the Virginia highlands. People who grew up there often carry the name with them long after they've moved on, and a shirt that says Pearisburg is how they claim it at a reunion, a homecoming game or a trip back to visit family. For someone who still lives there, it's a way of saying they're proud of the place without it being a tourist souvenir. Small towns tend to have their own inside jokes and landmarks, so adding a second line with a street, a family name or a graduation year makes the shirt feel personal rather than generic. For a former resident who moved away, a mug with the town name is a daily reminder of home. Because the place is small, the people who recognize the name are often the people who matter most to the one wearing it.
