About this pekin gift
Pekin is a small city in Illinois on the Illinois River, a few miles from Peoria, and a lot of the people who have a connection to it are proud of it in a quiet, hometown way. Someone who grew up there, went to school there, or still has family in town will likely feel a shirt or mug with the city name is a more personal gift than a generic souvenir. What tends to land is a design that reads as theirs: their hometown on the front, and in the second line a graduation year, a high school class, or a street or neighborhood they know well. For someone who moved away, a Pekin mug on the kitchen counter is an easy way to keep the place close. For a family member still living there, a hoodie for the chilly river mornings says home more than a card does.
