About this roller derby gift
Roller derby players spend their weekends on wood floors, blocking and jamming at full speed, and the people who love them spend those same nights in the bleachers. A gift for a skater should feel like it came from the track: a tee they can wear to practice, a hoodie for the cold drive to the bout, a mug for the post-game coffee. Roller derby culture is full of skater names, the playful alter egos each person picks, so a shirt with a skater name often means more than a plain team line. Add their number, their league, or the year they started skating, and the gift becomes a record of their time on the track. Many leagues are amateur and run on volunteers, so a shirt they can wear to scrimmage or to sell at a bout night fits right in. You're not buying a generic sports shirt; you're buying into their league.
