About this school counselor gift
School counselors spend their days between crisis and paperwork: a student who can't stop crying in the hallway, a schedule that has to be rebuilt by Friday, a parent on the phone at 7 a.m. They're the adult who remembers which kid has a sick grandparent and which one just got into the college they wanted. A gift that lands is one that acknowledges that quiet, unglamorous work. A soft tee for the drive to a school that never has enough counselors, a hoodie for the chilly office where they keep the tissues, or a mug for the coffee they reheat three times before lunch. Put the words school counselor on it, and add the name of the school or district if you know it, or the grade levels they serve. If the word reads a little plain to you, a second line with their name makes it theirs. Teachers and counselors often get the last gift of the school year, so a mug or tee in late spring is an easy choice.
