About this shingler gift
A shingler spends the day on steep roofs in the sun, the heat, the wind, and the cold, and the work only shows once a roof is finished and dry. Most shinglers are on the job before the sun is up, so a gift that's warm and sturdy suits them better than anything dressy. A hoodie for the cold mornings on a roof, a tee for the long summer days, or a mug for the coffee they drink on the tailgate before the first nail goes in. What makes it land is the word itself: shingler is a trade name, and seeing it printed on something they wear to work tells them you know what they do. You can type the word and a name, or a company or crew name on a second line, so the shirt becomes theirs. Many roofers get new gear during the busy season from spring into fall, when the work is heaviest and the crew is most proud of itself.
