About this tenino gift
Tenino is a small town in Thurston County, Washington, and the people who live there tend to be proud of it in a quiet, rooted way. Many of them grew up here, stayed close to family and know the local roads by heart. A shirt or mug with the town name is a way to show that pride without any fuss, the kind of thing worn to the feed store, the kids' ballgame or a summer pancake breakfast. Because Tenino is small, a gift like this often says more than it would for a bigger city: it tells the person you noticed where they're from. Add a second line with a year they moved back, the year their family arrived, or their street, and the shirt becomes theirs. For a relative who moved away, a Tenino mug on a kitchen counter in another state is a reminder of home every morning.
