About this ville platte gift
Ville Platte is a small city in St. Landry Parish in south-central Louisiana, and people who grew up there tend to carry it with them. A shirt with the town name is how someone who's left for Lafayette, Houston or somewhere farther away shows where they're from, and how a hometown crowd at a homecoming or family reunion spots one another across a parking lot. The town is part of Cajun country, so a second line with a family name, a street or a class year turns a generic city tee into something that belongs to one person. A hoodie suits the one who still comes back for holidays, and a mug is the easy pick for the grandparent who never stopped saying the name with pride. If you're not sure how well the place name will read to someone who doesn't know the town, add a small detail they'll recognize, like a family name or the year they graduated from Ville Platte High.
