About this whitman gift
Whitman is a small town and a surname, and a shirt with that name tends to get a question from strangers every time it's worn. Whoever you're shopping for has probably had to explain where it is, or why it sounds like the poet, so a design with the name on it is a small pleasure that nobody else in their closet has. The word works as a place name, a family name, or a reminder of home for anyone who grew up near the town. Those who've moved away often want something that looks like where they came from, and a Whitman mug on the kitchen counter does that without much fuss. A tee or hoodie suits the weekend, and a kids design lets a parent or grandparent claim a child as part of the place. Use the second line to add a year, a family name, or whatever ties the gift to their own story, and it stops being generic and becomes theirs.
