About this acquisitions editor gift
An acquisitions editor spends the day reading what hasn't been published yet, then decides which manuscripts deserve a place on the list. It's part taste, part persuasion, and a lot of reading at night. They go to editorial meetings, argue for the book they love, and sometimes break the news to an author that it's not the right fit. If you're buying for one, skip the generic book-lover gift and go for something that names the actual job. A tee that says acquisitions editor on the front gets a laugh from colleagues who know exactly what it means. A mug is the right size for a long afternoon with a stack of pages. You can add a second line to many designs: a imprint name, a favorite genre, or a line about the slush pile. For a new hire or a promotion, put the title on a hoodie they'll wear on the commute and on the weekends when they're still reading submissions.

- A tee for the new hireFor someone just starting at a publisher, a tee with the title shows you're proud of the job they landed. Pick a light or dark tee depending on what they wear most.
- A promotion hoodieIf they've just moved up to acquisitions editor, a hoodie marks the step and gets plenty of wear on reading weekends.
- Matching shirts for the editorial teamChoose one design in the Team Shop, paste the names of everyone on the editorial side, and pick a size for each person. It makes a good gift for a team that just wrapped a big season.
