About this college point gift
College Point is a neighborhood in the northeast corner of Queens, New York, along the water near Flushing Bay, and people who grew up there tend to stay attached to it. A shirt with the name is a way to claim that small stretch of Queens for someone who moved away for work or school, or for a relative who still lives on the same block. Because it's a neighborhood rather than a big famous city, the people who recognize it usually know it well, and that's what makes the gift land. Pair the name with a second line for a street, a school, a graduating class or the year they moved out, and it reads as personal rather than like a souvenir. Hoodies suit the cold waterfront walks, mugs suit the kitchen table back home, and tees work for the summer trips back to visit family.
All college point gifts →- A tee for a homecoming visitAdd the year they moved away or a street name on the second line so it reads as theirs, not a tourist's.
- A hoodie for the cold monthsCollege Point is on the water, so a warm hoodie fits the winter walks along the bay they probably still remember.
- A mug for the transplantAn 11oz mug with the neighborhood name is a daily reminder of home for someone now living somewhere else.
- A kids tee for the next generationIf the family still has roots here, a kids tee lets a child wear the neighborhood name on their own.
