About this green valley gift
Green Valley could be any of several towns, so the first thing to get right is which one this person calls home. Residents of a small place tend to take their town personally, whether they grew up on its main street, commute out of it every morning or moved back after years away. A shirt with the town name is how they say so at the county fair, on a weekend hike or at a family reunion where somebody from out of town asks where that is. For people who have moved away, the town name on a mug is the small daily reminder of where they're from. Add a second line for the year they were born there, the year they moved, or the street or neighborhood, and the design stops being a generic souvenir and becomes their story. Hoodies suit the cold months and the drive to school, and a baby onesie is a quiet way to welcome a new arrival into the same hometown.
