About this resident intern gift
Residents and interns are in the first years of training after medical school, working long shifts, learning on the fly and often running on coffee. Many of them are still figuring out who they are as doctors, and they may not feel like they have much time or money for themselves. A gift that acknowledges that stretch of training, something they can wear to the hospital or keep on the break-room counter, tends to land well. Put the word resident or intern on it, and add their specialty, such as internal medicine, surgery or pediatrics, plus the year of their program if you know it. Residency and intern years are often marked by a single start date each July, so a hoodie or mug with that year can become a small milestone. A personalized design says you see the work they're doing, even on the nights when nobody else does.
All resident intern gifts →- A tee for the hospitalAdd their specialty as the second line, such as Surgery Resident or Pediatric Intern, and they'll have something to wear on rounds.
- A hoodie for the on-call roomHospital call rooms run cold, so a hoodie with their program year is a practical comfort for long overnight shifts.
- A mug for the early morningsAn 11oz mug with their title gives them a reason to slow down for a few minutes before the first pager goes off.
- A dark tee for the off hoursA dark tee with the resident or intern design works for the gym or a weekend out, not just the hospital.
