About this schleswig gift
Schleswig is a small city in northern Germany, on the Schlei inlet near the Baltic coast in the state of Schleswig-Holstein. People from there, or people with family roots in the area, often feel a strong attachment to a place most of the world has never heard of. A shirt or mug with the city name is a way to say where you're from without a long explanation, and it tends to start the conversation that follows. It also suits anyone who has lived there, studied there, or visited and fallen for the harbor and the old town. The name is distinctive enough that a design with Schleswig printed large looks deliberate rather than generic. For the person who has moved away, a mug is a daily reminder of home. For someone who has visited, a hoodie makes a good souvenir that gets worn long after the trip.
