About this altavista gift
Altavista is a small town in Campbell County, Virginia, and the people who grew up there tend to hold on to it. A shirt with the town name is how a former resident wears their hometown to a college game, a family reunion, or a new job in a city that has never heard of it. Small towns also have their own loyalties: the high school, the church, the main street where everybody knew the pharmacist. A second line on the design can carry that detail, a graduation year or a family name, which turns a town shirt into something personal. For someone who moved away, a mug on the kitchen counter does the same work every morning. Hoodies suit the cold months, and onesies are a sweet way to pass the name on to a new baby in the family.
