About this bauxite gift
Bauxite is a small mining town in central Arkansas, and the people who grew up there tend to carry it with them. Mining towns have their own kind of pride: work boots by the back door, a main street that's quieter than it used to be, and a high school whose football Friday still gets the whole town out. A shirt with Bauxite on it is a way to say where you're from without a long explanation, which matters when the name draws a blank in most of the country. For a grad heading off to college or a former resident who moved away, a hoodie feels like home in the cold months, and a mug on the desk is a quiet daily reminder. Because the town is small, a shirt with the town name and a second line for a class year or a family name tends to mean more than a generic one would.
